A blocked bank account is a special type of account that international students are required to open in Germany to provide proof of sufficient funds for their living expenses while studying in the country. The account is called a “Sperrkonto” in German, which means "blocked account”. Blocked account also known as a limited-withdrawal bank account. This means students can not withdraw more than a certain amount every month.
